Blender

Currently I am learning Blender. I am amazed by it capabilities, and the fact that it is an open source application is amazing. There are a fair amount of learning sources for this program.

Sketchup Tests

Getting some more Practice with Google's Free SketchUp program.
Trying for the 'baked clay' look.
I really need to purchase a rendered to get the full scale effect of that look.
This weeks I tried two different Rederers: Podium and IDX.
Both are the Free Versions....so these rendered images are REALLY small.
If I were to go with one...probably Podium.. $79 for the Teachers edition.
The Left Images are based off of a concept sketch from the Art of Incredibles book, the INSURICARE buildings.
The Top Right is a model from Google Sketchup's Warehouse of: Magic Kingdom's Haunted Mansion.
I can see where this program is could used in production piplines....it's pretty quick to get a building made...
complex models take longer of course....
But for perspective and guides for Bg's that are used over and over or need to be drawn from differernt views: HUGE time saver.
Ie: Ships or More complicated structures.

The Gambler

Angel and the badman--Johnny Cash

There was a man whose deeds were dark as night
And quite by chance he rode into the light
A man wild as the dust devil with no place to run livin' by his wits and by his gun
He met a girl like none he had ever known she cared not for the wild oats he had sown

And so he laid his gun down and set his spirit free began living in respectability
But his old ways of thinkin' wouldn't die could not forget the old creed he lived by
And the good and bad and right and wrong kept fightin' for his soul
Till his heart and mind both went out of control

But now the old saloon had lost its spell what once was laughter now was living hell
And the hookers guns and drinkin' in his life were out of place
And in his mind he saw an angel's face
So he burned all his bridges in a day and the devil deeds were done and laid away
And he rode out a better man than when he first rode in
And the angel got the badman in the end

A.k.a--my first attempt at modeling a vehicle Using Sketchup.
Fairly happy with the results. I've been using this program at my day job for interiors....but was wanting to try my luck at using this program to model.
